The Crest Industries Culture Corps is a group of team members nominated and recognized by their peers as examples of our Values in action. Each month, one member of the Culture Corps is recognized as a Culture Champion for their outstanding efforts of living our Values and helping our teams, customers and communities grow beyond what we believe is possible. These Culture Champions receive the “Walkie-Talkie Award” for their commitment to walking the talk and living our our Values every day.

In less than a year as a part of the Mid-State team and Crest Family, Nick has showcased a strong dedication to serving our customers, supporting our teams, and living our values through the work he does each day. His nominator, Laura Jolly, says that he “learns quickly and has done a great job in the vending area of our warehouse,” and Tony Loken agreed whole-heartedly saying that Nick is a great example of our values in action. Nick, thank you for everything you do to support our teams and put our values into action each day!

He has been integral in starting up operations and research at Avant Organics. The work he performs in the lab, his dedication and ability to follow through, lead our teams, and rise to meet the challenges and high standards of the industry are inspiring to the team. Wesley Fontenot shared that Josh is a true go-getter and innovative problem solver within the team. He says, “as an R&D chemist, [Josh] represents the heartbeat of this company and continuously provides new ideas [and he’s] a constant source of innovation that is invaluable to Avant and Crest.” Josh, thank you for being a great example of doing the right thing, winning together, and questioning the status quo. Josh is a vital part of our Avant and Crest Family, and we are lucky to have him on our team. Congratulations again!

The entire Sales Team at MSS came together to nominate Herman and spotlight him for his dedication to living our values in the work he does each day. The team shares that Herman is the go-to example for living out MSS and Crest’s purpose and values – especially while dealing with the demanding requests and unexpected challenges that come with serving Mid-State’s customers.

Chris has been with the Crest Family of Companies for more than 13 years, but he recently moved into the Proposals department at Beta Engineering in February of this year. Chris was nominated by his supervisor, Steve Ganey who spotlighted Chris for his dedication, leadership and industry knowledge. Steve shares that “To do a good job on a task is great and needed, but to do it consistently is something that we all should strive for, and we see this from Chris on a daily basis - both as a team member and as a leader. We at Beta and in the Proposal Department greatly benefit from his leadership skills and strong knowledge of our industry.” Chris has been a great addition to the Proposal Group at Beta and has helped in their continuous improvement process to continue to boost both Beta and Crest as a whole. Jenny has been with the team for more than 30 years. Her dedication to doing what she says, winning together, and turning challenges into successes is something to be applauded! With teammates across the country and multiple projects happening at once, Jenny goes above and beyond to assist anyone in need at any time.

Kristal is the Procurement and Billing Supervisor at DIS-TRAN Packaged Substations, and she has made an incredible impact on our teams while living our values and inspiring those around her. Kristal was nominated by several people throughout the past few months, and they all commented on her passion, positive attitude, and commitment to our teams and values. Kristal is no stranger to vulnerability and rising to the challenge. From taking on new opportunities to facing personal struggles, her resilience is undeniable, and we are excited to celebrate her example of vulnerability, trust, and perseverance!

Congratulations to Tammy Payton for being inducted into Crest’s Culture Corps for the month of July! Tammy is an Administrative Coordinator for DIS-TRAN Steel. Tammy is an exceptional team member. Her teammates say she’s reliable and a quick learner. She is never afraid to rise to the challenge and takes on various tasks without hesitation or complaint. She exudes patience, kindness, and an unyielding amount of support for the DIS-TRAN team.
Trey joined our team in February of 2020 – just a few short weeks before we began to feel the full impact and uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic. Over the past two years his teammates have noticed his dedication despite that uncertainty, and they’ve recognized his eye for continuous improvement. His nominator, Jemelle Sanders, says that Trey is always looking for a more efficient way and order of doing things. Trey – thanks for all you do and for helping us all to stay made for the challenge!
Buck is reliable, works with honesty and integrity, and cares about the people on his team. Jimmy is a part of the Optimal team in Geismar, and a key leader in the Turnaround Services Division. Jimmy’s nominator, Justin Beeson, says that “[Jimmy] goes above and beyond to make sure his people are striving to be their best.” He rises to the challenges the team faces and does everything he can to be sure they hit the mark we promise to our clients. He always takes the time to thank his people for their good work and gives positive criticism when he sees room for improvement or knows the team can do better.
